This Lanistra of the USS MichaelAngelo, a Federation ship. I'm covering both the Science Officer and Chief Medical Officer positions. We are currently towing an asteroid with a device on it made by the Romulans. It gives off a wave of power that can disrupt power on star bases and ships. I wish we could get a closer look at it but we're under orders to tow it to a Federation ship. We are using a large shuttle to explore its location. It was out of phase until we used some torpedos set at a certain frequency to disrupt its being phased. As we've been towing it, two ships have shown up on long range scanners. They come out of cloak just long enough to be seen and then disappear. What are they after? Probably the device we are currently towing. Let's hope the ships are opposing members. We must wait and see.

We were towing the Romulan energy wave device when two ships showed up. They began moving in. They turned out to be a Romulan ship and an Orion mercenary ship. The two of them began to fight. With our help the Orion one won the battle. The resultant explosion of the Romulan ship broke the asteroid free of our tractor beam. The Orion ship tractored the asteroid and demanded we surrender or die. The usual. The captain got an idea to mask Qamtu, Kellein and me from detection. When we were on board the Orion craft, he teleported the three of us to the battle bridge of the Orion ship. We killed the Orions there and fended off an attack by more Orions. We now have the battle bridge. I set up force fields around our runabout/shuttle. I still say we should shut off life support to the rest of the ship. They would pass out in a few hours and die when the air went bad. Then the ship would be ours.

We had a battle over that Romulan device again. We were again victorious. I was seeing to any injured that turned up in Sick Bay. With the battle over, we could relax a little. I was seeing a young couple that have turned up six weeks pregnant. I prescribed some vitamins and exercise for her and answered their questions. While I was dealing with them, the captain showed up to talk with me. When they left, he started asking about physicals. The crew IS due for them now. I will begin with the captain, then Qamtu and Alera. I'm a little concerned about Alera's shedding of feathers. I hope it's just stress or her time to molt. I'll see when it's her turn for the physical.

I have begun the physicals finally. I had one shy male show up for his physical. At first, he refused to remove his uniform. But I talked him into it and did his physical. He's in good shape and fit for duty. Just as I had finished his physical and he had dressed again, the power went off in the entire ship. We have stopped dead in space with no life support or lights. I've switched to my thermal vision to see my way around. The Captain found me on my way to the Bridge and has ordered me to find the saboteur. ::sighs:: How am I going to do that? I'm going to start with Engineering and see what I can find.

I discovered a way to find the saboteur. It was easy to find his work. That meant his scent was all over it. I checked the jeffries tubes and found the one where his scent was the strongest and followed the tube down to him. I became very silent when I got close and then attacked him. He was taken to the brig and secured. Now to deal with the boarders. And to get to the Bridge quickly. I'm on my way and killing any Strimarians on the way. I hope Alera can hold out until the Captain and I get there.

The Captain and I have made it to the bridge. Alera was waiting for us with a phaser in her hand. There must have been some fighting to obtain the bridge by Strimarians. The Captain ordered me to take over Tactical and fire the weapons at the Strimarian ships. I did so gladly. How dare they interrupt my giving physicals! The two ships were left drifting helplessly in space. Then we retrieved the shuttle Qamtu was in and headed for a space station. From there we led a task force of Klingon ships and one of Federation ships to attack the Strimarians to show them they couldn't attack us without provocation. And so the battle goes on.

We were on our way to patrol around DS9 when five ships were spotted. When they were scanned, they were found to be carrying weapons and dilithium. That many ships carrying that kind of cargo must be up to something. When we ordered them to stop, they cloaked and took off. It took me some time to find them but I did using their engine emissions. Qamtu fired at one and destroyed it with one torpedo. The big disadvantage of being cloaked is that you can't use shields. This time, when they were ordered to stop, they decloaked and stopped. We confiscated the cargo and have taken it to where Star Fleet can take it off our hands. Such a nice tempting cargo they were carrying. Too bad we can't lighten their load a little for our ship. But the captain said no on it. He's no fun.

I'm nearly finished with the physicals. There's only Lt. Qamtu left. And I bet she'll put up a protest at being examined. Well, she has to have it done too. The captain and Alera both had theirs done. I had mine done by the holodoc. He found a little something. The nanites in my body were all concentrating on the left leg. I can understand that happening. I fell and hit my left leg hard against the wall. You should see the bruises on it. So far, everyone's fine and in good health. HQ should be happy to hear that.

I finally finished the physicals. Qamtu did put up a protest and I had to bring in two big Security people as a threat to get her to cooperate. She is in fine condition. The scars on her body from all the battles! It would be interesting to spar with her. I turned in the PADDs with the physicals on them. HQ will be happy again with us. Now I'm acting as Science officer. We found a debris field and bodies but no survivors or life signs. It looks like a battle had gone on here. We left the debris field behind and began to have trouble. The lights flickered and the consoles went out. Everything came back up again. There was a sensor deadspot in the ship. I went to investigate as did Qamtu. We found small spiderlike beings with a large one feeding off a power conduit of our ship. Energy weapons do nothing to them. My telekinesis only worked once. Time to get out my .50 caliber Desert Eagles and start shooting them with that. I hope it works.

We are trying a new idea to get the spiders to leave. Cutting off all power in the ship. One problem with this idea. Anything with a battery is now a target for them. Maybe even my own machinery parts, though they are living metal, may be a target for those little spiders. There are wounded to take care of so I went to Sick Bay to take care of them. There I found a line of spiders carrying off my battery powered instruments. I only had one thought: Oh no you don't! I started killing spiders and gathering up the instruments to treat the wounded. It's a good thing I can see by thermal vision. It's very dark without the light. There's an additional problem. The temperature is starting to drop. I can withstand the cold of space and live without breathing. The rest of the crew can't. How separate this makes me from them. And it's all because I was built to survive many situations. ::kills another spider:: How can I treat people and kill spiders too?

Those spider beings seem to be mechanical in nature but move quite well for a mechanical device. They are getting into everything on the ship and draining energy. The Captain came up with an idea to shut off all the energy devices on the ship to drive the spiders out. It didn't work too well. They just switched to stealing battery operated devices. One of the spiders tried to drag me off from Sick Bay. Speaking of Sick Bay, I've a number of wounded to take care of. Including one who shot himself in the foot with a replicated pistol. ::shakes her head:: They don't know what to do with a projectile weapon. The crew is more of a danger to themselves than to the spiders with projectile weapons. The spiders left the ship and are forming a large ship of their own. The captain is very concerned they may attack us. I came up with the idea to use probes topped with mines to attack them with. I've been putting them together. I hope it works. If it doesn't work and they attack us, we're done for.

The juryrigged missiles didn't work. The first one did damage to the spider ship but the second and third ones didn't. Then the spider ship took out the weapons, including the torpedo room I was in. I ended up with only minor wounds. I got lucky. Many in the torpedo room weren't so lucky. Some are dead. Others are badly wounded. I called up the holodoc to help with the wounded just because there were enough to deal with. Carefully we moved the badly wounded to the Sick Bay. I hope the captain comes up with a good idea. I'm too busy to come up with one right now. The Sick Bay is full of people now.

I find I had volunteered to do a "kamikaze" style attack at the spider ship. The three of us - the captain, Lt. Qamtu and me - were to fly shuttles at the spider ship. These shuttles were loaded with explosives. They had to be guided by a pilot until the last minute because the spider ship might move. So we took off. I had made sure the holodoc was running to take care of the people in the Sick Bay beds already. We got close to the spider ship and were caught in tractor beams, stopping us before we could get close. As soon the effect of the emp burst wore off, we were beamed back to the Michael Angelo. I checked on the Sick Bay and went to the bridge. The spider ship sent us a message that they were peaceful and wanted to survive. That's why they had attacked us in the first place. Then they said to leave them alone. I hope they pick an uninhabited planet to settle on. We left them. I returned to Sick Bay and turned off the holodoc. That was it for the mission. Were we the bad guys this time? It's possible. Maybe we could have given them an alternate form of energy source to use. Too many maybes in all of this. All I know is that we goofed. Big time. Maybe next time......

While the USS Michael Angelo is being repaired, we have been relaxing at the Klingon Honor Guard Recruiting Room. The first night I spent quietly. Fortunately, there were no fights in the room. I had some bloodwine to drink. Interesting drink that bloodwine is. It has an interesting tang to it. On the second night, I gambled at a dabo table. ::chuckles:: Count on the Klingons to have a gambling table and bar in a recruiting room. I met a Tal Rasha the second night. He is an Egyptian from Earth itself. His family is old. Probably as old as mine. I wonder if he's royalty too. I gave Alera the name of a Cheldari historian she could gain knowledge of the Cheldari from. All in all, it was a pleasant relaxation time. No wounded or sick to care for. Just pure relaxation.
