Tanith MacLeod looked at the PADD with the orders. Orders assigning her to a Klingon ship. She was angry. Angry that she was not allowed to join her bondmate. How long had it been since they had anything but liberty together.. when her ship had been in port or for refitting or when he had been able to find her ship when he was between diplomatic or admiralty assignments? Why would she give up her command and request diplomatic assignment if not to be with her husband? Was the admiralty really that..stupid?
A laugh escaped her at the thought of being reduced to thinking of the admiralty as stupid. She sighed as a tear slid down her cheek. She dashed it away with the back of her hand. Determined, she pulled out her valise and began packing. There were some things that could not be transported and retain the essence of what they were. Things that were too precious, too elemental to a Druid and to sacred to a woman. It was the same valise that she had carried since she left Earth the first time and that she had carried with her to the Nexus. The Nexus..even the thought of that vessel opened a portal to memories that came rushing back. Memories of explorations, adventures, discoveries, battles. Memories or people..some now passed..friends..betrayal..and love found and now..missing among the stars.
Now, betrayal would be confronted. Would Kahlest be honorable enough to come to terms or would she again hide behind being a Klingon?
