ENGINEER'S LOG LT. MOONSHADOWS TO ENNIEN UMF EXODUS
We have successfully made the approach to Malantheus. One Imlubari ship in orbit, armed auxiliary / troop transport. Supporting ground troops. Transport destroyed. Fighters launched and strafed (I looked it up, it is a word taken from STRAFFE, Earth German for "punish") Imlubari ground positions, driving them off from the attack.
Our cargo beamed down with MACOs. I am gratified to find the refit of this ship seems to be up to standard, as I have not had time to personally go over all systems.
Shuttle bay doors and launch systems operating well. Again, I will take them apart when I have time... Life support, propulsion and main drive power system upgrades working well. Weapons operating at peak efficiency, shielding is good. I think Exodus is a good ship.
It is true what I learned (anecdotally) at Academy... Engineers get personally involved with Machinery.
I have listened in on the comm systems, MACOs are sending up children and wounded. Ens. Willie seems a competent transporter man. In all, the Maquis seem to be more competent, if not as hidebound, as the Star Fleet I left.
Engineering is on standby, transwarp coil is ready, all systems green, phasers recharged. As soon as we reach a point where we can heave to for a day, I will install the other three Peltier generators I have stored. This will effectively double the power output for our systems. A distinict advantage if our good captain wishes to keep taking us, as the all palms say, into harms way.

ENGINEER'S LOG LT. MOONSHADOWS TO ENNIEN UMF EXODUS
ALERT: RED
We have beamed aboard the refugees (wounded, children) from Malantheus. As Exodus does not have the luxury of many personnel afforded Star Fleet ships, we rely heavily on automation and remote controls. I am pleased to see these are operating with peak efficiency. The crew is superb, and Capt. Iparo's rebuild with our upgrades has given us a good ship.
I have increased life support to accommodate the extra passengers... transporters have operated well, kudos to transporter Chief J. Willie. Cargo beamed down to Malantheus without incident, my natural need to stick my tail in where it does not belong has led me to listen in on communications, cargo distributed to Malantheun colonists successfully. MACO troops recovered safely.
Automated fighter launch went well, have set for automated recovery. Recovery successful. I will run a check on systems soonest. I could wish for the engineering crew a Star Fleet vessel would have, but a busy Sivaoan hangs her tail from no branch. My own crew is very well trained and effective, if fewer in numbers.
RECORDING PAUSE
We have left orbit. I gather we have hostile company, in large numbers. Transwarp coil charged and will enable on helm command. Engineering is ready.
RECORDING BREAK
Transwarp successful. Coil is shut down, recharging. Have shifted to warp engines. The ship is running smoothly, engineers are standing by. I will take my off shift time to run checks on some of our systems... maybe I will meet some Malanthuen cubs.

210 FILE (Short form) STARFLEET BUPERS Name: Moonshadows to Ennien Race: Felinoid Gender (M, F, other) Female Planet of Origin: Sivao (location unknown) Age: App. 28 Federation Standard years.
Specialty: Engineering Rank: Lt. Commander Ht: 1.5 (One point five) meters Weight: 60 (sixty) kilograms (120 lb.) Eyes: Gold
Description: Gold and black “Tortoise Shell” fur, face half black half gold. Prehensile tail, retractile claws. Highly dirigible ears.
Special talents/characteristics: Prehensile tail. Eidetic memory. Extremely agile and strong. Very fast reflexes. Quick to learn, quite intelligent. Eager to please, but also quite independent.
Training: Aside from Standard Star Fleet curriculum, subject Moonshadows completed studies in Engineering, Quantum physics / Mechanics, warp technology, ships systems technology, and multiple other disciplines; training fit in with Engineering training on her home planet. Midshipmen cruise USS Semmes, served on USS Wayne on transferring to USS Rohmer. Discharged by Captain Robeson USS Rohmer at mast. See attachment.
Special cautions: Sivaoans are very honorable. Their names are chosen after “Walking”, a Rite of Passage into adulthood, and their names MEAN a good deal to them.
Rite of Passage includes emphasis on survival and group cooperation on their own very savage planet. Few choose to leave for any length of time.
Psychology: They are very loyal. Sivaoans practice ritual combat at perceived insult, which ends as soon as one combatant cries out. They express emotion more with body language (especially tail, ears, and whiskers) than facial expressions. They are also very understanding and quick to forgive. Generally outgoing and friendly.
Language: Sivaoans have a greater range of hearing, both higher and lower, than humans... most have perfect pitch. Their language consists of what can best be described as cat noises, although it is very rich and filled with great sagas and legends. Smells, fur positions, tail postures, and whisker and ear positioning enter greatly into showing their moods. The eidetic memory of the Sivaoans makes it easy to pick up new languages. SIDE NOTE: Most Sivaoans are also likely to be proficient in one or mere of the arts such as dance, song, acrobatics, etc.
Food requirements: Sivaoans eat both cooked and raw meats, are however omnivorous in spite of the dental structure. Sivaoans are immune to some humanoid diseases, and susceptible to others.
UNIFORM NOTE: Sivaoans possess very think fur, with a thicker undercoat. Due to the structure of the Sivaoan legs, uniforms are therefore limited to a collar with department colors and rank stripes and a belt with comm badge, as trousers impede their ability to walk. Secondary sexual characteristics are not particularly evident unless a female is pregnant or nursing or in case of male, while about to mate.
HISTORICAL NOTE: Sivao discovered by USS Enterprise (NCC 1701 A) in search for cure of ADF plague. Sivaoans are the parent race of the felinoid Eeiauoans (Planet of origin of ADF plagues).
ATTACHMENT: SUBJ: DISCIPLINARY ACTION, LT. COMMANDER MOONSHADOWS TO ENNIEN. Subject, while on liberty, star base DEEPSPACE 9, encountered a small business owner, selling Earth plant catnip. Catnip is used by many Felinoid races, including but not limited to Caitians, Kzin, etc. Unfortunately, Sivaoans are particularly susceptible to the herb - a Sativan intoxicant.
Subj. Moonshadows, consumed a large dose of catnip, became highly adgitated and active. A passing Trill (Unnamed in DEEPSPACE 9 Constable report) with a laser pointer took advantage of the situation, enticing Lt. Comdr. Moonshadows into chasing the dot. Several passers by, a row of recycling bins, three vendors kiosks were knocked over or damaged in the ensuing chaos. Moonshadows arrested, jailed, turned over to Capt. Robeson for disciplinary action.
Charges included public intoxication, misuse of a dangerous drug (Dropped) multiple counts of assault, property damage, creating a nuisance, and (Star Fleet regulation 31-9 C) Conduct unbecoming an officer. No defense offered. Subj. Discharged at Mast.
Star Fleet has lost track of subject, unreliable information places her on Maquis ship or civilian craft.

VIA COMM LINK PERSONAL LOG LT. COMDR. MOONSHADOWS TO ENNIEN ENGINEERING OFFICER UMF EXODUS
Star Fleet ruled I was to record memories for the All Palms, as they do not remember all details. I suppose I have fallen into the habit. So, I am on the outlaw station in sector 10 - 41 NGC... with the captain and others. We seek information, and Imlubari are here... we have removed all signs of Maquis identification. Capt. Rheis wants us to be pirates. To this end, MCO Brekke has entered a prize fight and... mauled her opponent.
The All Palms have pitiful claws, and no fangs, they continuously amaze me with their fighting ability. I wanted to fight, Capt. Rheis would not grant permission. I think it would have been a better show.
I did have the good fortune to be able to use my claws on the minion of some rich man who wished me for his menagerie. Only a little clawing, the minion will not lose his hand...
Imlubari ship destroyed by Exodus main batteries. We shall attempt to waylay the few Imlubari on the station, and perhaps some Yridians we saw them talking to. I do not think the personnel of this station will even notice. I feel like fighting... I do not know what has caused the foul mood.

ENGINEER'S LOG LT. COMDR. MOONSHADOWS TO ENNIEN CHIEF ENGINEER UFM EXODUS
STATUS: YELLOW ALERT
We have returned to Exodus, after a short fire fight on the free station. No casualties. Imlubari ship, destroyed by fire from Exodus, at least three (3) Imlubari fled with Yridian personnel.
Shore party returned to Exodus via Shuttle. Stations manned for space, I am pleased to report engines online, shields charged, phasers power banks up and ready to cast off in under 4.5 minutes. I wish we were in Star Fleet, there would be awards for such performance by an engineering crew. I will put my people up against any Fleet personnel.
Side note... today's fight showed the disadvantage of a Blast pistol... no stun setting. All I could do was try to keep the Imlubari ducking. Perhaps Capt. Rheis is correct, I am still not fully civilized...
Power balanced, engineering is under control, I shall turn things over to Lt. Bilibrew and take the bridge console.

ENGINEER'S LOG LT. COMDR. MOONSHADOWS TO ENNIEN UMF EXODUS VIA COMM LINK
I am pleased with the engineering staff. They may not be Star Fleet, but I will stack them against any Fleet crew.
We have contacted my friend Garan, now an admiral in the Imperial fleet... and dropped our Imlubari prisoners for transport to Rure Penthe'... a place I do not want to inhabit. I detest cold.
After a short battle, the Yridan ship was subdued, it's cargo taken. The Federation takes a dim view of pirates, I neither wish to end up in a penal colony nor a psychological rehabilitation facility, I hope Capt. Rheis knows what he is doing. In any case, I gave my word in the Old Tongue to serve Capt. Rheis, his path I will walk.
I am presently in main cargo, will join Officer Brekke in inventorying the... I suppose loot is the correct word... we took from the Yridian ship. Captain Rheis hopes to trade for spares, fuel, and establish us as pirates in good standing.
Ships systems, weapons and shields holding up well, drives and life support good. Dampeners and compensators in order. I do not know where we will find a yard if we have a major breakdown. I will do what I can.

SHIPS LOG UMF EXODUS LT. COMDR. MOONSHADOWS TO ENNIEN EXECUTIVE OFFICER REPORTING
IN ORBIT ABOUT DILITHIUM REFINING STATION
We have found an apparently dead station. No life signs, diminished power readings, and indications of a strange radiation. Lon Stadi, MCO Brekke and our Captain have gone to investigate. I am left in the center seat. Bridge running smoothly, Ciara and Ken keeping watch on the Away Team. Helm officer Gallun holding position.
No close traffic on communications, nothing on sensors.
I have been informed the station power core is showing odd readings, I should lead an investigation into this, power cores are nothing to be near when they lose their peace of mind.
Away team returning, I suspect that there will be a staff meeting.
Holding until relieved.

ENGINEERING LOG LT COMMANDER MOONSHADOWS TO ENNIEN REPORTING VIA TRICORDER I have arrived at the derelict dilithium processing station. The crew seems to have disappeared. That is not my primary problem. Lt. Bixby has set up detectors and equipment, but even through helmet pickups I can tell the power core is wrong.
Tricorder readings indicate a high gamma output, elevated delta radiation. Core is also running above regulation temperatures.
Before beaming out, with a telepathic overload, Lon Stadi reported the crew is here somewhere, and there has been mention of an entity perhaps in the core. I do not approve of such goings on, this core must be put back in control, or at best it will be irreparably damaged... at worst, we are looking at a melt down.
Gamma level rising, gamma is a natural byproduct of matter / antimatter reaction, but things are out of balance here...
I will do what I can...

ENGINEERING LOG LT. COMDR. MOONSHADOWS TO ENNIEN CHIEF ENGINEER / EXECUTIVE OFFICER UMF EXODUS
We have brought the station back online. ZirVan has the computer system powered up, but circuits and memory tiles need repair and replacement.
Lt. Brekke activated the polarity reversal and plasma purge of the stations MAMMA reactor. It seems some life form had placed the crew of the station in some... other place.
It is hard to conceive of, much less accept such a life form, living in the radiation and heat, but, it happened. Upon ejection of being, crew reappeared on station. No casualty count, not my business.
Exodus will trade rescue for crystals... we can use dilithium, focusing the MAMMA reaction eats a lot of dilithium, and our regeneration is not what I would like. I need to obtain better equipment for crystal regeneration, perhaps now that we are pirates, I can persuade Capt. Rheis to enter one of the federation "mothball" yards and find one on an old decommissioned ship.
Technician ZirVan and assistant Engineer Bixby performed well on the away mission. Exodus can depend on them.

EXECUTIVE OFFICER / CENG LOG LT. COMDR. MOONSHADOWS TO ENNIEN UMF EXODUS
We are off the dilithium refinery station, and have met with Delta Maxian task force.
The station is back online, we have obtained 100 kilograms of prime dilithium crystal. It will keep us happy for a long time. My commendations to the away team, and to crew technician ZirVan and assistant engineer Bixby, who performed in exemplary manner on the mission. Gear and personnel are back aboard, I have returned to the bridge.
The Delta Maxians are willing to trade for benamite, and I have uploaded a list of material I need (as the captain has)... I imagine the Maxian commander squawked like his tail was bitten when he read of the inplace dilithium crystal regenerator I covet...
In a few days, we can be back online and return to the area of the benamite field. I think I can use the cargo transporters to beam sections of asteroid containing benamite ore to the hold, and we can dig out the benamite there... NOTE: PROTECTIVE BREATHING GEAR TO AVOID DUST REQUIRED. WILL INCREASE FILTERAGE OF HOLD AREA LIFE SUPPORT AIR VENTS.
Things go well

ENGINEER'S LOG LT. COMDR. MOONSHADOWS TO ENNIEN EXECUTIVE OFFICER UMF EXODUS
New equipment installed, we have a dilithium regenerator online, our crystals will last longer, AND we have a hundred pounds of spares. I almost relax.
The Delta Maxians supplied us with food and equipment, (NOTE TO SELF: LOOK UP LETTERS OF MARQUE) and we operating at a standard I can live with. My tail loops at the engineers having to live with ME.
On the bridge console.... Dialed up full power to comms and sensors, boosting week signal. Tracked to class M planet.
BREAK BREAK
Have joined away team, beaming to a village seemingly inhabited by humanoid holograms. Their emitting projector is powering down or damaged, I need to get instruments on it to tell... ethically, if I CAN repair it, should I repair it... they are not alive...

CHIEF ENGINEER'S LOG LT. COMDR. MOONSHADOWS TO ENNIEN UMF EXODUS
VIA TRICORDER / SURFACE OF OMICRON SIGMA II
We are AT on the planet's surface, where we have discovered only a holographic population (Humanoid). Something is wrong with the holoprojection equipment, we have entered a building looking for the "Guardian" referred to by the holograms.
BREAK BREAK
Building entered, I have found the main control panels... I have managed to trace the problem to a section of the main projection coupling relays. We have located an extremely ill humanoid named Kretzal. I have left to go below to attempt to repair the machinery, the sick human is not my specialty.
BREAK BREAK
I have located the problem in the holographic generator. Engineering can easily make new relays. Parts beamed down by Exodus, replaced... on return to the upper levels, have found holograms working to full capacity, they say the can cure Kretzal. I do not know what we will do as inheritors of a planet of holograms, and now I am in a command capacity.
Will report as situation develops
