In this thread article, I will attempt to explain the forum directory structure. When one understands the directory structure, ones posting experience could be more enjoyable.
I will attempt to explain the forum directory structure in the following manner.
From the main forum index page khgboard.proboards105.com/index.cgi I will explain the items of interest.
1.) Categories - You could say that "Categories" are sections of the message board that contain many forums that lead to sub-boards and then to your threads.
For example, the current categories would be the following.
KHG Forum Information Area
KHG Imperial Embassy
KHG Imperial Vessels
Star Trek: The Federation Vessels
General (OOC) Discussions
Categories can only be created by administrators.
2.) Forums - Forums are located within categories leading to sub-boards and then to threads.
For example, the current forums would be the following. I will list a few forums in the Category KHG Forum Information Area.
KHG News and Information
KHG News Letter

Member's Character Biography Area
Forums can only be created by administrators.
3.) Sub-Boards - Sub-boards are located within Forums, that lead to threads. An example of a Sub-Board is as follows.
Category: KHG Imperial Vessels
Forum: IKV HoS
Sub-Board: IKV HoS Duty Logs.
Once you click on and access the sub-board IKV HoS Duty logs, you can post threads in this section, much as you can in other sub-boards. However, this sub-board is specifically for posting of duty logs. For example, you can post a thread in this sub-board titled CO (Commanding Officer's Duty Log). Threads can have any number of posts.
Sub-boards can only be created by Administrators.
4.) Threads - Threads are a group of posts that can be made by the general users. Threads can contain any number of posts made by any registered user. Threads can be posted inside forums and sub-boards. Threads will generally contain 15 posts per page.
Threads and posts can be made by any user.[/color]
